Loading Existing Game Problem

I have a PBemail game late in August 1945 and suddenly I am unable to load my partner's file. I keep getting saved game failed to load when I try to start the turn
I have rebooted my laptop a couple of times, restarted WiTPAE a couple of times, my partner redid his turn, I renamed the file. We keep having the same problem. Please help
after 20 months or so of play we are down to the Allies crushing my Japanese and we want to see it play out into 46, though I doubt I will hold out that long

OK, all I can do is guess, so this might be nonsense.

Is either one of you having Internet problems? Email problems if you are using email for sending the file?

One thing that is easy to try is to zip or 7zip the file before it is sent. That will put a wrapper around it. If the recipient is unable to extract the file, then you know that something went wrong in between.

If the recipient is able to extract the file, then you know that it transferred correctly and at least can rule that out (for that one file transfer).
