Speeding up combat animations

Post by wpurdom »

Prior to the current version, I liked to set the naval combat animations on, but then press the spacebar to superspeed through them.

This no longer seems to work under the current update. Is there a different way to run the animations for combat at high speed?

Use the 'z' key. The space bar now countermands the z key input.

The escape key provides the same function.

So does the "End" button in the upper right corner of the combat animations screen.

Take care with the escape key. Any bit of lingering while pressing it will be read as many buffered "presses" and you can find your turn speeding through many more events than you may want.

Used judiciously it can also be used to speed through other events such as the LCU movement phase.

Sometimes in the early game when the Allie have a ton of units moving on rails and the tedious way in which the interface reposts each hex of movement for units moving ten hexes on major rails can become really boring really quickly the escape key will blitz you right through this phase faster than lightning.

Thanks, the Z key definitely does the trick, though apparently it's one combat at a time, where the space key used to continue until undone.
