Also, not to interfere with Mike helping you, but I'm pretty sure that after 1.08 you can go straight to the latest build (in this case 737), no need to do 735 and 736 first.

I'm kind of hoping you're right Tomcat - I've re-installed from the initial disk onto a "clean" hard drive. I then tried to overlay/unpack B735 over the top of that, but no startup. Command would not start either from the Matrix startup splash screen or directly from Command.exe.

I'll unpack 1.08 onto the installation now, and give it a run and see what happens.

The v1.09 fileset assumes you already have v1.08 installed (there is no reason not to). If our fileset assumed you start from v1.00 you'd have to download over 3GB on each update.

Yeah, got that Sunburn.

Right now I'm back up and running on B736. Downloading B737 about to commence.

Thanks to Mike, Tomcat and Sunburn for your assistance.

Getting a strange response from the download for B737........ Click the link above and Browser opens a new tab, download screen opens up normally and is attempting to open the zip file. Then get "Oops - there was a problem with the network."[&:]

Is it my browser (never had this problem before)? Or is the server extremely busy?

This is working as expected. You click on "Download" and then the download commences to your computer's hard disk drive.

Excellent Release

Post by Grondoval »

Superb release. The Day/Night-Cycle adds significantly to the immersion imho. And all these DB-additions and fixes, wow!

BTW you didnt mention the feature that you can see the terrain-contours without relief layer now [:)]. I dont remeber seeing this in a previous release.

It appears you should check all Laser-designated weapons...

Most Paveway LGBs, China Type 200A LGB, Griffin Laser guided, and KAB-XXX laser guided bombs are having issues.

Also these laser guided missiles...

AS-10 Kh-25L Karen
AS-10 Kh-25ML Karen
AS-14 Kh-29L – 1981
AS-22 Kh-38MLE – Laser

Plus come misc artillery rounds and rockets that have laser guidance.

[PLEASE SEND SCENARIO FILE VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE]

Hello i have a small question

I have a scenario which i use as template with the whole french oob in it. I wanted to upgrade it to the latest DB with deep rebuild (1.09rc3) and i got a crash to desktop. I cannot post pic or link yet.
I wanted to know if there is some limitations with the update to latest db system or is it supposed to work irrespective of the number of unit in it ?

[SDB USES LAND 'RANGE CIRCLES' WHICH ARE BROWN (NEW 1.08)]

Wow, great update! What an awesome job you guys do!

Quick question..

I noticed during the updating of my scenario that my netherlands F35 (#3902 if I remember correctly) with Small Diameter Bombs don't show their ground weapon range circles (the dark red ones) anymore after the DB update. The american F35 with similar loadout is still okay when I insert them. The weapons do seem to fire normally.. The same thing happens in a blank scenario...

Has something changed here? Could you guys please do a quick check?

If its just an import file than it should just work (it pulls the objects into the scenario by id #) so you don't have to rebuild. However you may have an issue if an ID number was replaced or something similar but you should get a special error message telling you by ID what is missing.

If you don't mind please send to me via email. I'll pm my address to you. We'll take a look.

We recently (v1.08 IIRC) introduced a dedicated range ring for LAND-ATTACK weapons, colored BROWN. ANTI-SHIP weapons retain the DARK RED color ring.

You may need to rebuild you scenario.

Just took a look with a test scenario and looks ok. You didn't per chance turn the land weapon range ring off did you? Its under map settings.

Thanks!

No mate. The message I get is as quoted in my message.

I tried downloading anyway, but the file size is about 100MB - seems a little small.

I suspect an ISP issue. Google Drive is about as rock solid as you can get.
