Moving units

Post by therealsoglejr »

I'm trying modify an existing scenario. For the life of me I can't figure out how to move a unit from one place to another on the map.

In the editor open the Edit menu. Click deployment. On the right side of the screen there's a set of buttons. The long button at the bottom of those buttons is the one you want. It says Place Unit as default. Click it so it says Remove Unit. If the unit you want to remove is a part of a stack left click on the stack until it is at the top. When it is at the top of the stack right click it. It is removed.

Then to place it somewhere click on the square button that has a star. That brings up the formation display for the current formation. Click on the button for the unit you want to place. Make sure the long button mention above says Place Unit. Right click the hex you want to place the unit in.

I know I didn't explain it very well but it you look in the manual it does a better job (Deployement Editor 17.10). Just play around with it and you'll get it. [;)]

If duct tape doesn't fix it then you are not using enough duct tape.

Wow. Finally got it to work. What a ridiculously convoluted process. Should be as simple as drag & drop from one place to another. Thanks for the assist.

Yeah, the editor needs some serious work. It's like something from 1998. Oh wait, it is from 1998. I'm afraid with the current crop of experts so entrenched in their happiness with this dinosaur editor the powers that be leave it as it is, extremely difficult and, as you say, convoluted.
