I think the AV system sucks when it happens this early. In 1942 the Allies are whipping boys for the Japanese and they deserve a turn at gaining the upper hand! The game should be played out to the end of 1943 before any decision to reset or continue is made. Exception if the Allies lose their carriers en-masse and the game becomes a slow grind of LBA and land action. I book in for the naval action ...

No matter how bad a situation is, you can always make it worse. - Chris Hadfield : An Astronaut's Guide To Life On Earth
Alright, lets do this. Thank you fellows.
priority 1: Get all amphibious upgrades in line. Ships able to refit to APA and AKA assemble and head to the yards
at Stockton and Mare Island. Not worth further risk at sea. LST and LSI assemble under escort and deploy
to forward embarkation points. Christmas Island is well defended. Should KB try a strike here I would sacrifice
a handful of LSTs to shred his naval aviator corp under intense AAA and CAP. My largest losses are in US DDs.
The Fletchers will have to work hard. I will bolster the defenses against bombardment.
priority 2: The losses in B17s and B24s has also been brutal. It will take 90 days just to get three or four groups filled out.
The southeast Asia groups will get all the attention first. The groups in SW PAC are at 90%. I will continue to harass
Rangoon at night though.

Alameda is designated as refit location for APs. Six arrive today, three more tomorrow, three more in forty eight hours. AKs are herded into Mare Island.
I will corral them there till the attack transports are ready. The first LSTs arrive Pearl. xAKs which can refit to AKAs depart Australia. Another convoy with supply,
a/c, and support depart for the Line Islands. I doubt Lars has further interest in the Aleutians, but I send more support there anyway. Digging slow in winter.
Burma is quiet except for my smallish, continuing air offensive. I can't seem to get Paoshan (occupied) to starve. I am now going to attack the city at night as well as the airfield by day. I thought I could "walk" the bombing back to Kunming. I know he has Tojos somewhere on that road.
** forgot to mention, Cpt Murray on board the Big E sighted off the Bonin Islands.[X(]
***I was thinking, maybe surprise Tokyo before dreaded AV appeared. Now thinking how fast is flank speed.
Your Avengers were set for 1000' and thus used their LowN skills vs NavB skills. Is that what you wanted?? I like to set bombers on naval missions to have 10% on NavS.
IMO, the American economy is about to shift into 3rd gear with the next model of B-24s coming out next month, the first Corsairs, Hellcats, and Essex Class CVs. You should be rubbing your hands with glee now, not whining. [:D]
To be honest, I had the TBFs at 1,ooo' with the amateur thought they could hit better than glide altitudes as they are only trained in torpedo attacks. The desired
effect is reached regardless as the IJN egresses from the AO. I bet they steam right for Arorae to take down that small outpost, it would fit the MO to a tee. Should I actually begin to see his intentions now, as I believe I am, it will make spring a surprise for him. (rubbing hands with glee! (snicker)).
B17 over flights of Niuaf'oa show the 18th division, his reaction force, has vacated the island. Wildcat, recon trained, birds
will take a look tonight. I noticed he is shipping in supply to PM by small fast transport. I'm going to try another interdiction.
Two days later, more action in SwPac at sea. The Zeros were scrambled from Buna and must have flown in overnight.
Fortunately the Marauders are fast and perform the old in and out perfectly.
