Naval Transport anomaly

Post by KWG »

Loaded 2 FF mnt reg and the 201st FF eng reg onto naval transport in Oran, as they left port I got the "not enough transport" and maybe a interception msg. It was too fast too read.
Anyway the 201 FF eng reg reappeared south of Oran in a depleted state. Does this sound like something you want to look at?

That happened to me to. I assumed the unit was small enough to fit in one transport, and when it was sunk, the whole unit was lost.

So far I would guess I have lost around 20-30k troops dead and another 30-50k disabled to transports being sunk. (Oct '44)

In my next game, I am going to write down all the incidents as they happen, as I feel that the troop loss is several orders of magnitude greater then what actually happened in the Med. Which is costing me victory points, and manpower....and my opponent is not even doing anything to cause it.

I've also had a unit lose most of it's strength in an invasion, so when the germans walked next to it, it routed away.

Had that happen moving Germans off the Channel Islands once. I guess the regiment fit into a single transport and that was that.

I was able to recreate this, twice for the engineer unit and once for the other unit, but I had to try hard to do it. I think it's a matter of the fact that the one transport carrying the unit in question was hit and so the entire unit seems to be wiped out. The losses in the loss screen reflect this, although the pop up implies that not all of the men were destroyed. I also got the port message. I'll add these to the bug list.
