Volcanic moon colonized. Good but ...

Post by nukkxx5058 »

... but the problem is that I don't have the technology for volcanic colonization. In fact I received a message from 'advisor' asking me if we should colonize this moon. I answered 'yes' and it worked, despite the fact that the technology is unknown yet ...
Any explanation ?

Was it a captured or found Colony ship?

Colony Ships are loaded with the Races at their planet of Origin and can lan on worlds that that race can.
Select a colony ship and on the Info display it will list the world types it can land on.

It was not captured. The message history says "New colony established: xyz has been colonized"

How is it possible ?

If you got 100M(?) of a volcanic race on a colony, that colony can build volcanic colony ships with a population of that race. And there are events where you find a colony ship of some race that can colonize according to that race's native type.

For instance, the Gizurean breed fast, spread fast and are a volcanic race. Get enough on a colony, and they colonize for you.

Sounds like one of your scouts found a refugee fleet with a volcanic dwelling race. It's easy to miss messages telling you about those events when a bunch of stuff is happening at the same time and popups are flowing across the screen.

It's one of 3 things:

1. You found a refugee colony ship loaded with a race of volcanic living aliens and took control of it.
2. You found an 'abandoned' colony ship loaded with a race of volcanic living aliens at some location and took control of it.
3. You have an existing colony of volcanic living aliens who built a colony ship and sent it out.

Those are the only 3 possible ways to colonize a volcanic planet if you have not researched the tech for it yet.
