Hepling allies indirectly

Post by 0x7be »

I have a fellow empire of Securans which is at war with third empire of Dhayuts.
I don't like Dhayuts but I'am not ready for a full fledged war. That's why I'am turing down mutual defence pacts repeatedly offered by Securans.

Instead I'am trying to help them with any kind of indirect action I can imagine. I give them money, I gave them refuelling and mining rights, I trade rare goods with them, I give them a lots of ships, I give them all my research.

Is there anything I've missed?

Plus specific question: can I supply them with troops by giving them troops ships loaded with troops?

You can try putting trade sanctions on the Dhayut, though that will likely only have a small effect, depending on your level of trade with them. The steps you've already taken will have a much larger impact.

Of course, you could always start blowing up the occasional Dhayut ship without declaring war, but there's a good chance the filthy bugs would quickly declare war on you for that. A better bet might be to engage in a full espionage assault on the Dhayut, if you race is competent at it. Start blowing up space ports, defensive bases, etc. It's very difficult, but the impact could be substantial.
