Unit request/suggestion Syrian SPA

Post by BeirutDude »

I noticed the Syrian SPA for the 1981+ scenarios OOB was the T-34/122 but by then the Syrians were largely using the 2S1 Gvozdika and 2S3 Akatsiya. Any chance an update can incorporate these SPA units into the OOB? (Or did my old brain and eyes miss them?).

I didn't create the organizations of those ones yet, I will for future UPDATES though, of course.

In the meantime, you could swap out the t34/122's with whichever batteries you would prefer to use.

Thanks for pointing it out. OOB work is never complete!

OK, I did find them (attached jpg). My bad, I knew to swap them out in the Organization and I looked for them (really I did!) but I missed them. I plead trying to do this with kids and 5 month old puppy under foot, while the Jacksonville Jaguars were getting KILLED! [8D][:D]

It appears the more modern Russian SPARTY (2S1, 2S3, 2S4) is not above platoon level in the organizational charts. Which means, a scenario designer would have to build the organization at battery and battalion level in the oob for any scenario. We will probably need to look at this to see if we need to tweak the Syrian OB to incorporate at least the 2S1's fielding in '81.

Regards,

Jim

Being a Jag fan means never having to worry about what it feels like to win. [:D] Fortunately we have the 'Noles and Gators! [&o]
