Sluggish response

Post by decaro »

I just installed win 10 and reinstalled AE under latest patch but I'm experiencing sluggish click and scrolling; resolution and full screen, however, both look OK.

So what possible remedy goes after "C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\autorun.exe" in my Start icon properties?

Joe, one of the key things that the threads I referred you to in the other thread where you asked this is: do not point to "autorun.exe". Point to the game executable instead. "autorun.exe" does not pass along (all of?) the switches to the game.

The -deepColor switch fixed all my Win8 sluggishness problems before I upgraded my laptop to Win10.

Still running fine.

OK, that helped, but scrolling is still somewhat clunky.

Apparently the trick now is that in Win 10, when I add switches to the .exe file in the game folder on the HD, I have to enter the game through the AE "app" on the window icon activated screen (action center?) and not the desktop icon, otherwise the game won't play.

Go figure.

Best results so far: -altFont -archive -wd -deepColor -px1366 -py768 -fixedArt -noFire -SingleCpuOrders -cpu3
I'm optimistic that this formula can be tweaked.

I have found that the -dd_sw switch works well for mouse lag.

I have found that the -dd_sw switch works well for mouse lag.

Unfortunately, not for me; in fact, it made scrolling worse.

I have an HP desktop w/Win 10; I bet you have something different.

I just now figured out that I have to click on the screen to better scroll it, and now scrolling is swift.
It's been a long time since I played this game.

I still have some time lag in clicking and selecting, but now it's much more tolerable.

Thanks, everyone.
