LVT at local Marine station

Post by HansBolter »

Went to a construction site in Tampa today to review a pay request and stopped in front of the local Marine Corps station to grab a photo of the LVT on display out front.

Spent 12 years working in Tampa and drove by it every day on the way to work but never thought to grab a photo.

For anyone wanting to find it on GE it located at the east end of Gandy Bridge (the southern most bridge across Tampa Bay from Tampa to St.Petersburg) on the north side of Gandy Boulevard.

Anyone know what model it is?

They want to move that USMC station over to MacDill AFB and turn it into a park now. Wonder if they will leave the museum piece.
