Greenland and Iceland

Post by Admiral Delabroglio »

This one has probably also been discussed over and over, but I must have missed it...

How do you take control of Greenland and Iceland with the USA ? I chose the US entry option but I can't move a loaded TRS there. I did not see any hint in the RAC manual US entry option chapter.

Best regards

After choosing the US entry option (during the US entry phase), the hexes in Greenland and Iceland instantly become US controlled. US units can be transported there normally.

Maybe the hexes should change ownership, but they didn't. Could it be due to the fact that the USA chose to occupy Greenland and Iceland the very turn Denmark was conquered ? At the end of the turn, a popup window informed me that Greenland, Iceland, and the Feroes had reverted back to neutrality

1- Either the USA can't occupy Greenland and Iceland the turn Denmark is Dowed and/or conquered, then the game shouldn't let me do it
2- Or it is allowed and Greenland and Iceland should not revert to neutrality

I suspect it might be a bug

I think the American player probably has to click a button during a Declaration of War phase on a subsequent turn to change the hex control. That is how the rule is written though I am unclear on how Steve might have coded it.

Yes.

The US should be able to claim Greenland and Iceland as long as an Axis major power is at war with Denmark or has conquered it.

I need to fix the conquest of Denmark so Greenland and Denmark remained controlled by the US once they have been claimed by the US.

Ah, yes this might be what happened.
Axis declare war on denmark.
US claims Island and greenland
Denmark falls, greenland and iceland converts back to being neutral countries.
