RE: New Grand Prix Season Is Almost Upon Us!!!
There are actually two things to look at here. The first corner (Rosberg obviously ahead) gave way to Hamilton. The second corner (I'm not prepared to admit Hamilton was in the lead for sure, it was close...perhaps you can look at it on your DVR...they also had a different angle on a replay than the live angle), Hamilton took it very wide (in my opinion blocking) giving Rosberg the choice to either crash or run off track.
Conflict with the unexpected: two qualities are indispensable; first, an intellect which, even in the midst of this obscurity, is not without some traces of inner light which lead to the truth; second, the courage to follow this faint light. KvC

Jenson will drive for McLaren in 2016. What a glutton for punishment [:D]
I wish you luck Jenson - let's hope Honda can get a grip on the situation.

RE: New Grand Prix Season Is Almost Upon Us!!!
Just stunned by your negative response.
Has taken me 2 days to overcome my utter shock of being refused.
Now I would have understood if it was the Australlian Beauties thread, seeing that 2 men of the pic being posted.
But here, on the Grand Prix thread. I do not know what the world is coming too.
I still can't believe it.
Not sure if I can bear the thought of returning to this thread, after such an answer.

I take it you blacked out Mansell in that photo?

Why wont Mercedes be an engine supplier for Red Bull? Red Bull (+ Torro Rosso) is thinking about pulling out after this year.

Why wont Mercedes be an engine supplier for Red Bull? Red Bull (+ Torro Rosso) is thinking about pulling out after this year.
Because with Adrian Newey in the fold, there is every chance that Red Bull could beat Mercedes - and from a corporate point of view, what is the point of the factory team then?
Mercedes maybe could supply them BUT, Red Bull are insisting on the latest spec engines and not the customer version (which they see as an insult). Ferrari have only offered 2015 engines hence Matescich (spelling?) is in a strop and threatening to quit again.
This inherent problem with customer engines is why McLaren turned to Honda as soon as possible after Mercedes announced a factory team.

Repeat of last race? If Rosberg gives in to Hamilton like he did last race, I'll be so pissed!

I finally got a chance to watch Japan. I don't believe Rosberg gave way to Lewis pe se. That does not mean that he didn't move off, he did. But it does strongly appear that Lewis forced him off. If Lewis had done that in NASCAR, or CART, there would be blood. There were no control issues that had Lewis swing so far wide. I believe Rosberg was just trying to keep from tangling, which would not have done either team good. I was a bit shocked that the stewards did not say or do anything, but I am still new to F1 rules. From a professional point of view, I believe Rosberg did the right thing. But I would be seriously looking for a maple bat to explain the issue to my team mate if I was Rosberg, and if it happened again it would take more than polite manners to keep me from applying gentle persuasion to reinforce my displeasure.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
RE: New Grand Prix Season Is Almost Upon Us!!!
As far as I know, the race stewards interfere only when;
.) cars of different teams are involved
.) something like an accident or a collision happened
.) any violation of rules occured (like crossing the white line at the pit-exit too early, as Hamilton did in Hungary)
and finally
.) when one team logs a protest.
In this incident, nothing really happened. None of both left the track in a way to gain an advantage (like crossing a corner), and no car was forced to stop racing.
Can you imagine Mercedes protesting a incident which involved its own cars only? Now imagine they do, and one of its drivers would get a penalty, like a drive-through penalty, or a 30-seconds penalty...
This would be a team shooting ist own foot then...
