graphics bug since update

Post by Seminole »

I'm sometimes seeing the unit name (or CV) display overlapping for stacked units.

It's not doing it everywhere, just on a few hexes. I first noticed it when I air transported a unit, but now that I've loaded a turn in a separate game I noticed it right off the bat:

Yes, it is known issue, but I'm not able to replicate it.

I've seen this a few times also. If it's any help, I use Parallel's Desktop on a Mac (Parallels v11, Windows 7) and it appears there too.

I don't have a screen shot but it has also happened when a formerly stacked unit moves to a hex by itself.

Can you please explain it in more details?

Two units stacked together. One unit moves. The unit that moves has the double image of the values of the unit it used to be stacked with. The unit that remained stationary appears normal.

Take a look at Seminole v Zephir_MatrixForum (turn 29) on the server.
It's there each time I load the save.

Happening in several hexes.
Salerno, Lida de Roma, and a few more by the frontline close to Taranto.

A curious one has a single unit in the hex, but the name is duplicated as you'd see in the bugged display hexes with stacked units.

I'll resume the game once you let me know you've grabbed the save.

Downloaded, but it looks clear in all these places. Seems that it doesn't saves off, and happens during the unit movement.

Curious.
In my instance none of the units had been moved yet (still in air planning phase). It was visible when I loaded the save this afternoon from a fresh start of the game. I saved and re-opened it and the bug was still visible so I made my post hoping you could see it.
Since then I've closed the game to work on my AAR, restarted the game upon seeing your post, and now the graphics glitch isn't there...

Just to clarify too that this is not a huge issue. It has happened to me twice that I've noticed in a twenty turn game, and each time it only affected one unit or stack for a turn. That's a sample of one though. Other's might see it differently.

I find that when it happens, I can scroll the map to get rid of it. So when windows redraws the map when it scrolls back into view, the map looks correct.

It seems to happen when I move a unit by rail.

Playing around a little bit, since I am railing a lot of units around.

If the unit is on a Rail Yard, then I get a bit of the Rail Yard graphic stuck on the counter when it moves. Seems like all the time.

The artifact disappears if I scroll the map far enough away and come back.

Hmm..I just loaded up an old save game...probably from around the .48 days.

I just cannot get that graphic glitch to show up.

So I made a new one. Cant get the glitch to show up.

And yet when I did my server game earlier (the multiplayer one)...I could get the glitch practically every time I railed a unit.

I've also seen it. Thought for a minute it might be due to support units as it happened when I attached a support unit to a regiment. However, I can't duplicate it either, although I've seen it on a number of occasions.

I think I found what is causing it. Usually it happens when you load various saves, with different unit placement. Should be fixed in next release.
