Way to Copy OOB into Different Scenario?

The development team behind the award-winning games Decisive Campaigns: From Warsaw To Paris and Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive year and theater of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue simulates the German drive to Stalingrad and into the Caucasus of the summer of 1942, as well as its May preludes (2nd Kharkov offensive, Operation Trappenjagd) and also the Soviet winter counter-offensive (Operation Uranus) that ended with the encirclement of 6th Army in Stalingrad and the destruction of the axis minor armies. With many improvements including the PBEM++ system, this is a release to watch for wargamers!

Way to Copy OOB into Different Scenario?

Post by Xenomorph »

I noticed that the area covered by the Axis from their jumping off point to Stalingrad is roughly the same as from Kansas City to Denver; and with similar terrain in many ways. I've traveled that route over I-70 many times & I thought it'd be fun to play out such a scenario. It'd be much easier to tweak an already created OOB if it's possible to copy the file. Thanks again for any help!

The same except there's not one major river. The rivers in that part of the Soviet Union run fairly north and south while anything that can be called a river in that part of the U.S. runs pretty much east and west. So that means any of the ravines also run in those directions. But I guess as far as weather and lack of trees it's about the same. The Germans from Russia that immigrated to the U.S. from those areas (Volga/Black Sea) ended up in the Dakotas, Kansas and Nebraska because those states reminded them of where they came from. My Grandfather's and Grandmother's families were some of those immigrants. So basically, yeah, resembles that part of the Soviet Union. You need to get yourself a topo map. [;)]

Thx. I found some pretty good topo maps online - from Univ of Texas as I recall. I'll post a link when I can get to it. The site actually has fairly detailed maps that cover a good part of much of the planet. Pretty cool.
