Duel_For_the_Golan_85-Banias

A Syrian heavily reinforced airmobile raid to close reinforcement routes on the base of Mount Hermon. Battalion vs. Battalion level battle with variable reinforcements. 15 turn night scenario. Unzip in the "Scenarios" folder and move the BMP file to the "Graphics" folder.

Crossroads I think you will like this one! [:D]

Yay! More scenarios!

I am traveling so this will have to wait until weekend. What I like with these airborne raids is how well a well equipped foot infantry force can hold their own against an armored opponent. At least for a while

Air superiority including against ground-to-air assets is such a nice asset to have too.

I see both forces are maxed aggro-wise and there is no custom AI file. I am wondering if using adaptive ai would mess with the designer's intent for his scenarios.

Also, with the JTCS update, we got more options in the AI menu. Now we have adaptive ai and also the custom ai files you wrote for the stock scenarios, which I assume contain nasty surprises.

Dumb question: Writing custom ai files will take a while. For similar scenarios, can we swap out one custom ai file for another to create more diversity, or would that mess the scenario(s) up?

If there is no <scenario>.ai file, the top-level init.ai file still applies.

And yes, you could use another existing, similar (i.e., same nations, similar time frame) <scenario>.ai file. Just be sure to rename the copy the same as the .scn file.

OK, what is an .AI file? I saw them in the folder and figured it was some kind of advanced AI but don't know how to use it?

There is an excellent PDF in the Manual folder that explains the AI file.

I highly recommend giving it a detailed read.

Looks like you can still design a great scenario with or without the custom file. But it is nice to have such a utility going forward.

Beyond the modern time frame, using the adaptive ai and "extreme" options gives a "real life" unpredictability that is lacking in JTCS, even when playing PBEM. Thanks!
