GD1938 Game 19

RE: GD1938 Game 19
@ironduke1955,
Your observation is correct, but in this game the German attack on Sweden, and the American troops there, raised war fever to a pitch. The USN was able to gain valuable experience in anti-sub operations in defeating the U-boats in the North Sea. By the time war with Japan came the USN had both quality and quantity going for them.
By the way, as a player I hope the Japanese Empire will fight to the finish, but if not then a surrender is better than a resignation. There are some very interesting conflicts going on in this game.

Japan surrenders.
History began July 4th, 1776. Anything before that was a mistake.

Italy may want to rush troops into Poland as the German line disintegrates against the Soviet assault.

The surrender of Japan in her war with the United States seems to have encouraged nations who were not a party to the war to acquire ex-Japanese territory. The United States has warned that this must stop - now. No more advances into this unoccupied land. The United States and China will occupy these lands in the course of future operations, but this territory is not up for grabs. The United States and China will defend their claims with warfare. Do not ignore this warning. Careful maps have been made and incursions will be seen.
The United States is busy rebuilding South America, building roads. China has occupied Peking at last.

The UK has moved into Persia to protect against an incursion from the Soviets. We also remind the USA that without the Commonwealth's forces being so arrayed in opposition to the Japanese, the US would not have had as easy a time defeating those forces. Our Pacific moves have not entered any former Japanese land areas. We are merely seeking out reports of IJN vessels and their officers and crews turning to piracy in the political vacuum left by the Emperor's sudden surrender.

Are we going to get a turn for 19? Nothing is there now.

RE: GD1938 Game 19
Hi.....I got all my problems sorted out at the end of last week. When I went to play the turn on Friday morning
there was a Japanese file in the folder. When I checked again in the evening there was nothing at all there.
I guess we could continue if whoever is playing China could put their completed turn from the last round into the
Dropbox folder?

I found the German turn 49 in the Old Turns Folder, not sure how it got there, the only record is of Chuck placing the file in the game 19 folder. So anyway should put us back on track.

The Italians inflict heavy losses on the Soviet forces besieging Christenau and on Soviet advice have extended there line further north into Poland, Italian fighters are out performing the Soviet Yak9dd, the Italian pilots showing the Soviets how it should be done.

......on Soviet advice?
RE: GD1938 Game 19
The Italians will get theirs soon enough. The Soviets are concentrating on the Germans.

The United States has begun to occupy the Pacific islands and parts of South America that Japan once held. The Japanese feel abashed as the Chinese forces of occupation march into their cities, but having surrendered they must accept the consequences.
The Chinese have occupied Shenyang, Port Arthur and Pusan, and have asked the Soviets to halt in place. China has said they will not allow Red Army forces in Seoul.

Turn 50 Italians, a fresh wave of Soviet Armor surges at Christenau only to be broken up by Italian air and ground forces, the ratio of exchange is currently 15 to 1 one Italian tank lost for 15 Soviet surely even the Soviet Union cannot sustain these losses.

This has been a very complex month. The diplomacy involved in declaring war on Great Britain involved war with
four nations. One of these was our good ally China. The US had to offer them peace, which China accepted, and then
she offered us an alliance again. China also declared war on Great Britain and France, and in the process both the
US and China ended at war with Italy. This was a side effect and both China and the USA have offered Italy peace.
There was no conflict between Italy, the USA, and China. The Soviet Union did not stop their advance in Korea, but
they did stop short of Seoul. Why they pushed deeper into Korea is a mystery.
China took Hanoi from the French, and advanced to contact with the British. The United States made war on France and
Great Britain across the world. We are not sure of the political stance of these western nations, and if they seek
allies it could be with the Axis, or the Soviets.
Canada was invaded, and Halifax, Quebec, and the far northern port are still under British control. British holdings
in South America are under pressure, troops in Liberia are on the move, Jamaica has been bombed. This is really a
world war. The Royal and French navies were attacked where found.
Here is a shot of an ongoing battle in the Atlantic, the Royal Navy's Force R and supporting submarines in dangerous
waters.
