Barbarossa German Leaders!

Post by Daniele »

Usually, most wargames are super-detailed and focus on simulating – and rightly so – the military aspects of a conflict.

Nevertheless, there is often an aspect of war neglected or only partially reproduced: the Human Factor and the range of complicated decisions that a Commander has to take.

In Barbarossa, the Chain of Command is taken very seriously. Far from being a mere cog inside an automated mechanism of decisions and order, playing the German Campaign you will act as the Commander overseeing the entire Operation Barbarossa.

In this role you will come across multiple different historical generals and leaders – accurately described in the game – with their unique personalities and goals.

Let’s discover some of them in this beautiful infographic!

Do you recognize them all?

Only a short annotation to the nickname of Feldmarschall von Bock. I don't have heared of any nickname, but i think if he has one there is a typo in it. You wrote "Der Sterber" -> the dier, but i think you wanted to call him "Der Streber" -> the striver/careerist.

You see i am also an striver [:D] ...

Hi Andreasf,

Nope, the nickname was in the context of 'We die today for the honour and glory of the Fatherland'.

He had a habit of urging his men to strive towards a glorious death.

Cheers,
Cameron
