Our subs got 2x xAKL, both west of Hong Kong.

Quiet on the ground in China. Our sweeps over Chungking got one or two defenders. The B-29s got almost three dozen LI hits. See the pic below. Hopefully even more damage shows up in succeeding days, but damaged plants are known to absorb hits proportionately.

More of just air action and ground movement on the SEAC front. The armour moving south from Chumphon is stopping to smell the roses about every 1/4 mile. I've grown impatient with that and the three divisions already in contact with the Imperials will attack tomorrow. Aside from those near Chiang Mai hunting down holdouts, the entire Chinese Army outside of China disembarked at Victoria Point today and man were they hungry - I mean the base is now seriously over crowded. They will move as quickly as possibly to Chumphon to board trains for Indochina.

The attack at Vinh went very well, as did the one near Hanoi.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The results at Vinh are quite impressive. All but three armored units will attack tomorrow as the infantry swore no booze until the battle is won, got to bed early and made an amazing recovery. The Empire invested in several air strikes on our troops near Hanoi and in CAP over their own. Our LRCAP of crack pilots in P-51B models from Uttaradit had difficulty holding them back for the distance from their base but took a bite out of them. On the flip side out escorts of various P-38 and P47 marks were plenty a match for the enemy CAP.

Near Hanoi the 2/4th Armoured Regiment attacked alone and still got 3 to 1 odds! Even better, only one unit was retreated so the other one can be attacked by an even greater force tomorrow. Air strikes coupled with the combat have heavily disrupted the 2/4th and air attacks alone heavily disrupted the 192nd, so both will sit out tomorrow's battle. The 706th and 711th will make a deliberate attack. The two infantry divisions will arrive during the day, too late for the attack.

Hue airfield has built to size 9 and a whole mess of engineer units are switching to strategic move mode for the anticipated ride to Vinh.

Ternate defenses could be seen cracking today.

Indochina. It looks like a division has taken position between Hanoi and Lang Son. The only unit seen in Hanoi is moving east, and must be the one just retreated. A small, ~1,600 troops, unit is still the only one seen in Haiphong. A likely AT unit is in the jungle east of Lang Son and another appears to be joining it from the east. In Lang Son itself we see 6 units, totaling less than 4,000 troops. Two units of 1,700 troops at Lao Cai.

Forgot to mention that the last turn was probably it through the weekend. So this is a good time for any large info queries.

Also, just realized that I neglected to change the orders for the B-29s, so LI at Chungking will be targeted again. HI would have been a better choice, if anything.

Info queries? hrrrm :) I have a few, let's see how many you feel like answering [:D]

Who are those stragglers SE of Siem Reap?

How much AV / how many units does the chinese army at Victoria Point amounts to?

Also, do you have any (relatively) recent sigint about Okinawa and the Canton/Hong Kong zone? Always interested in trying to predict how much opposition you'll face, though it could change quickly...

Units that were cut off in the Saigon area originally. Each of the three stacks is >3,000 troops. The center-lower stack is 4 units, the other two stacks are 1 unit each. Retreated several times, hit by air daily, and long out of supply. Our para Rgt in hex with one unit will bombard tomorrow to assess what is there.

On-map Intel:

Canton
14 units
28,880 troops
174 guns
14 AFV

Hong Kong
4 units
14,780 troops
64 guns
0 AFV

Naha
17 units
54,080 troops
508 guns
182 AFV

Nago and Daito Shoto are not presently at full recon so the figures are inaccurate. Figures given for them in the past are still largely accurate. All three will be bundles of fun. The other targets in the Okinawa operation are not under recon.

SigInt will take longer to collate. Maybe tonight maybe later. For Canton and Hong Kong I won't even bother, because they are on the mainland SigInt is useless because what is and isn't there can change completely in one day.

I should add the the Chinese Army units operating near Chiang Mai are another >900 AV. But they are still engaged and will take longer to get to the Indochina-China border from their present location anyway.

[:D] Those are just the ones that got bought out and are outside of China. Lots more in China. Of course there are zillions of troops/units that will only re-spawn if I recapture Chungking.

Does that mean the 300 squads are accumulating in the pools each turn? Or do they stop when Chungking is captured by Japan and only restart on liberation?

No, I don't mean the device replacement pools. Chinese units both in and out of China have been taking replacements like crazy. I mean the deal where Chinese units that are destroyed re-spawn with 1/3 infantry squads in Chungking. If I ever do recapture Chungking (seems unlikely) there will be a flood of infantry-only Chinese units arriving there.

If I remember right, there's more than one city the Chungking Magic Queue can work through. Perhaps there's an easier target?

Interesting, you have quite a bit of Chinese army still left :P Though I know it's not very strong units, aside from AV. Is there any particular reasons you left them prepped for Tsuyung, Taichow and Kunming?

Quite a bit of stuff at Naha by the way. I wonder if he has any inklings of your plan....
