Interesting, you have quite a bit of Chinese army still left Though I know it's not very strong units, aside from AV. Is there any particular reasons you left them prepped for Tsuyung, Taichow and Kunming?
Just so they can train to max and stay there when taking replacements. Not knowing where to prepare them for I also keep the option to retain partial preparation for a new target.

They are moving on as fast as possible. The armour will take quite a while to catch up. Victoria Point port is now size 3 and will build to size 4 (the maximum).

Again the Empire invested highly skilled bomber pilots to attack our armor prior to their attack near Hanoi. They fought through to target despite serious losses, but to no ultimate effect. Both infantry divisions are moving on Hanoi. The four armored units are moving on Haiphong (in combat formation). The CA TF is already in position and will bombard Vinh tonight, supporting the continued deliberate attack. It is clear that the shock attack with immediate followup by some armor cracked the defenses at Vinh. The USA 96th Infantry Division and XI Corps Engineer Group have unloaded at Cam Ranh bay and will rail to Tourane before passing through Vinh to join the offensive.

Just took a look through this last combat report, but it's a bad example because other turns had much more active fighter opposition. Mostly

but also recall those darned Nicks (IIRC) opposing bombers out of fighter escort range. In fact the first sweep of Chungking caught some of them, I think.

I think the George has proven to be the most dangerous. I don't track that as much as many players do.

I should point out that we loaded the experimental Babes aircraft update. When it was tweaked a couple of weeks later (to become the standard Babes air stats) we did not upgrade to the newer one that slightly toned down some Imperial fighters. So, the Empire in this game has it a little bit better in the air.

I don't have the mod you're using installed, but those are no leftover units obviously. And quite a bit of AA. You have a real fight on your hands.

Even if you shut down the airfields with bombers (which I suppose will cost you quite a bit of planes), that will clearly tell your opponent where you plan to land. It's going to be kamikaze hell!

Absolutely! That's why I am planning to carry out the smaller invasions of the operation while the larger battles are still being fought. As far as kamikazes go, I do expect problems (especially for the non-upgraded CVE fleet) but there won't be much in the way of bases nearby that should be too potent. The full B-29 force will be tasked with shutting down Naha and Nago first, then going after whatever troublesome bases they can reach.

For the data junkies, here is a similar list but for all bases and all hexes. Again, this has been filtered so that only the most recent SigInt for any LCU is included. A small number are in the vein of 'aboard ship and heading to ...' rather than 'is located at ...' but are included anyway. The hexes come first, then the bases.
