Any chance of a price reduction? Especially for the older titles

Post by CloseCombatRob »

Whilst I understand the newer titles such as PITF and GWTC being a little expensive, the older "remakes" such as CoI, WaR, TLD and LSA being the same price is absurd. For example what's the point in paying about £35 for CoI when you can get the whole original 5 games for free on Close Combat Org, especially considering the fact it's exactly the same as CC3 with some tweaks to be more historical, updated for modern pc's and an extra campaign. Same story with TLD, its just CC5 with tweaks for newer pc's and extra maps from mods such as GJS and Bloody Omaha to extend the campaign, and a night time mode. But why would anyone shell out this much money for essentially a modded version of the game they have got? It's not like you made those games from the ground up, it's pretty much a modded version of what atomic created, which you can get for free so I personally think the prices for them should be lowered otherwise there's really no point buying them now especially with PITF and GWTC being released for the same price. And people say those 2 are overpriced let alone the other titles.

It's like they don't want more money or sales. They say the reason the game is so expensive is because they are scared of bad reviews. Shows how much confidence they have in there own games, the matrix business model is one of the most stupid I've seen. Devs spend millions on there games and have charged less than these games. Yet here it's pretty much one or 2 guys changing and fixing a few old games. Just stick to the old CC games, this is simply a cash in.

What makes that funny is if you look at the steam reviews of the couple of CC games that are on steam, most of the negative reviews are because of the price. Yes there's a few about the graphics and AI here and there but the price seems to be much more common in the negative reviews. PITF has it's review status at "mixed" because of that reason. So what they think is avoiding bad reviews is actually making the game get more bad reviews lol
