UV v2.3 Upgrade problem

Post by sprior »

Version 2.20 runs fine. After installing v2.30 patch on first run I get a blue screen with:

Please insert disc in drive B: Press any key to continue.

The PC then hangs and UV flat refuses to start after that. Any clues please? Please?

Mate did you email me about this the other day? If you did I lost your email in an email program swap I did.

I am moving this to the UV problems forum to see if anyone else might be able to help as its got me stumped at the moment.

Just an update to the CD issue that some folks started having with UV 2.30.

It seems Microsoft Freelancer has the same issue. Microsoft's advice for a solution is that certain CD's do not work properly when set as a Slave device.

IDE devices have two settings, master or slave. Pretty much all computers today have two IDE channels. Depending on how your machine was set up, your CD might be a slave to the hard drive (first channel) or primary (only device on second channel).

This appears to be why pretty much everyone who ran into this issue successfully managed to get UV working in a different CD/DVD on the same machine. Microsoft's note seem to indicate this only is an issue with certain CD's, but it seems to be a pretty long list.
