Recommended scenarios for a new player

Post by Kinjin »

As a new player, I'm looking for a few good scenarios to get to grips with the game. I've completed the tutorials, and a couple of the more basic scenarios so now I'm looking for a good one to test myself on.

Anyone want to recommend a couple?

Im assuming you have the full game and not just Northern Inferno....

Battle of Lakatia, 1973 is a good ship vs ship scenario, it was one of the first I played.

Also if you have the Community Scenario Pack, I would recommend Tanker Wars, 2017

I found the Desert Storm scenario and the Battle of Latakia scenario very nice as stepping stones. Would also recommend Raid on Kismayo as soon as you feel more in grip with the game.

I'd recommend South China Clash, a good scenario covering a possible conflict today. Includes drones, air to air refueling, and submarines!

Iron hand, an excellent scenario to practise air to air combat, jamming, recon, aerial refuelling, ground attack and suppression of air defences while still being very manageable.

I tried Iron Hand too when I started playing the sim. Thought it was hard AF for beginners.

The entire game has a steep learning curve, the advantage of Iron hand is that it’s highly diverse but that you can finish it in under an hour and if things really go to hell, you can easily restart it without losing to much time. I also started with it and learned so much about using different tactics and the importance of jamming while playing this scenario (as it can be quite punishing if (and wen) you mess up).

You're right in your assumption. I'll be treating myself to Northern Inferno and a day off work in a couple of weeks for my birthday. So I'm trying to get myself up to speed before then.

Some good suggestions from everyone, and it's given me a good list to start with. Cheers, I appreciate it.
