How can you downsize the huge side icon?

How can you downsize the huge side icon?

There is a round icon of a head between the compass and the turn button. It is HUGE. So huge that it can easily block part of the map. Surely there must be a way to scale it down, a LOT.
My resolution is 2560x1440, so this should not be happening.
