Using new image

Post by plumbean »

Hello, Im new to the forum.I am stuck atm with the editor.I want to replace the unit pictures with my own and i cant figure out how to do it.I want to go more modern and i edited a t-72 picture.I saved it as a bmp,and png.I created a folder in graphics.but when i try to load it dosnt see it.When i try to load it from a different folder ,say in pictures. It will say error file dosnt exist.Im on no masterfile so i can edit the units stats and name, just i cant load any new images.I also make sure the new pictures are edited to 260x 194.

I'm not sure what could be going wrong here. I'm not sure what you have tried, so let me describe it and see if there is something here. On the "graphics" page of the SFT, there is the picture right below the unit symbol. To change this, you click on the blue box with the white arrow. This should open a window that will allow you to navigate to the directory where the image is. Note that the window defaults looking for a .png file. If there is no .png file, it will be blank. To get a .bmp or .jpg you need to select this in the window. The image should be 192x144. If it is larger or smaller, it will load anyway, but it will be off. There is an image just to the right. This is an overlay that will be drawn on top of the one to the left. If you do not want this, set it to a transparent image. Note that .png files are somewhat more preferable because they support transparent images. For a .bmp file transparent is actually a magenta color. Also, after you have changed the picture, you should also look at the BaseColMod button. Click this and set to zero. Otherwise, it will generate a tint to the image.

This should work. So I am surprised you are having the difficulty that you cannot find the image.
