FLANK SPEED to station?

Post by schmolywar »

My ships are starting out their missions on flank speed just to get to their assigned stations. Due to this they get detected by enemy subs and ships. So how do I get my ships to start out not doing this?

Check their assigned behaviors. If it's set to sprint and drift, then the ship will proceed at full/flank to their station, and then creep for a period of time. Destroyers will do this so that they have periods of time when their sonars can operate without the noise from their own hull.

Where do I check their assigned behaviours? AFAIK there is nothing under "group doctrine" to affect this behaviour. The only so far Ive come up with is to detach the units from the group.

You're looking for Formation Editor under the Unit/Group menu.
