End 67 North front

Post by BrianG »

I retake Vladimer against a split up regiment.

He really has shipped troops south!

Oh and nice of the citizens in West Moscow to finally disrupt the RR heading North East. A tad late!

Very strange game...

Non only the front is strange but the OOB totally unusual

4700K russians at this stage??

And 1300 german AFV available???

Issues

Post by BrianG »

VP is around 244 which is an issue.
His cut off troops must be getting very weak from having no chance to refit. Plus his lost reformed units must be soaking up all the spare armaments.
I assume he has no Armaments balance.
If I survive in ok shape before mud, I will have a chance to regroup, rebuild and reconquer.

He will have one more good push though after the mud.

turn 68 German Moves

Post by BrianG »

TDV launches major northward attack with his Infantry troops just west of Voroshilvograd.
Resulting in major part off my army again cut off.
My lower middle group which has been trying to escape for months now is almost finished.
It has been a localized hell for the axis allied armies.
He also does a better job around Kharkov.
This is clear with one more cxlear to go.

very interesting game to watch!
If there is only 1 clear turn left, then it is almost certain that GHC won't be able to close the big south pocket in clear weather. Indeed, it becomes very dangerous for him in that last clear turn, if he take risk, chances are he will lose some units in the first mud turn.
The north pincer have not infantry, the south pincer is a bit far away. On clear hexes, the 2-3 CV Germany divisions are not likely to hold against the last push by SHC in the last half clear turn. that would be a SHC local victory. With the Germany CV so low, I doubt they could keep the pressure in Mud turns. I guess at least 80% of pocketed troops would get out in mud turns.
Regardless of how much men GHC kill, capture in those extremely costly pockets, it is a completely disastrous performance for Germany in 1942. The Germany keep wanting to eat more than it could digest. As a result, it rubbish its troops. One could imagine Moscow would be defended by 100 0.1CV regiments, holding an impossible long line, in 1944. SHC don't need to build any artillery units from now on, only need to spend AP on motorize units and 1944 would be a feast with huge pockets.

This AAR is awsome. BrianG, you totally beat the german army. low CV value units will try to stop you during 1943, and all you need is to build Infantry and mobile division as MK Tour said. I'm curious about the 43 offense :)

Future build up

Post by BrianG »

Mktours has pretty good analysis.

I have not even a tiny thought about building artillery. I need inf units and mobile troops. Will try to build these and eventually make big hole somewhere.

That's if I hold off his post mud push.

t68 end Stalino

Post by BrianG »

I cut off his tank units but Gorlaka is now tuff to hold. Another vp to him in retreat.
I put good troops just North of river.

He can easily swing south and attack Rostov.

1 more turn in clear though. Finally.

t68 end Big K to Big V

Post by BrianG »

I reopen my link to Kharkov and the guard tank unit in it was from the prior cut off attempts.

North east of Orel I use local attacks to cut of south part of supply line. Plenty of sec routs.

To cut the north part of the line I threw in another tank corp.
His tanks have now had multiple turns without good supply. He still has good position with his advance troops.

My supply corridor is cut at the rr crossing that river. Enemy zoc.

Losing Big K is bad on VP points. Trying not too.

I give up Orel. This has flipped sides multiple times.

Generally looks like you have survived the worst of his offensive?
ORIGINAL: BrianG

He only has 1100 planes and 21000 guns.

quite true, but I have never seen an OOB screen with such low tank and artillery numbers for both sides
