Looking for substitute (Closed)

Post here to meet players for PBEM games and generally engage in ribbing and banter about your prowess.

Hopefully I have found a substitute in Joglinks1 - he already has the turn, got password from adsoul64 and has taken a look into the turn... Keep your fingers crossed...[;)]

It does seems likely that more Japanese players will quit early for the sorts of reasons that have been alluded to in this thread. However, is it accurate to say that most do?

I don't think so...

I can only talk from personal experience but, having nearly always played PBEM as Japan, I have found that Allied players have always quit on me, not the other way round. I'm not trying to start some kind of tit-for-tat thing here, but there can be another side to this...

At least 5 of my allied opponents have quit, usually early in the game. Some of them have been forum regulars.

Also, what does "quitting" means? To me it's people who just dissapper. If someone doesn't want to continue the game anymore, just say it. That's OK.

PBEM game is a long commitment, and it's not going to work if players don't match. There's a people around here who are always willing to exploit the system. Playing styles differ. I play AE because it's fun, but some PBEM games just are not fun - not worth wasting time. It's important to find an opponent who has same ideas of the game.

I totally agree, and yes it is generally people who disappear rather than announce that they want a change or are not enjoying it any more. That's a shame given how much has been invested in the game by that point.

Good luck with your new opponent Barb - fingers have been crossed!
