RE: Routing issue

Post by Joel Billings »

The bug is that they are showing up in red when they are in fact considered to be in supply. They are in supply because the amphib is not adjacent to all the water hexes next to the port hex and the interdiction level is not high enough for you to have taken control of these water hexes. You need to use 2 amphib HQs or have much heavier interdiction that would last during both the German turn and your turn. When I load the save and switch sides, the German units say they are in supply which is correct given the map situation. I don't know why they are showing up in red, so that should be bugged. Thanks.

I read somewhere on the forum that one anphib unit was enough to blockade a port and the fact it said isolated re-affirmed that belief.

Thanks for the quick response.

Added to the bug list that these units should not be bordered in red as they are in supply.

Think ive came across another bug.

On turn 4 I placed an amphib next to Palermo and another two amphibs in the hexes sw and nw of Trapani. On turn 5 i attacked Trapani and the units routed. Game reports those units as isolated.

Is there any reason (apart from a bug) why those units in Trapani would rout.

I gave up trying to isolate it with amphibs and just used NI instead.

Ive attached the turn 4 save, on turn 5 the units rout every time. Maybe im misunderstanding the game rules but im fairly certain ive read that amphib units stop supply in their current and their surrounding hexes.

Thanks for the save. I ran it through and when I get to turn 5 although the German units show as isolated (bordered in red), when I go to their unit detail screen (via a special debugging mode we have), they say they are in supply.

The rules say this: Neither enemy supply trace nor enemy naval transport can pass through hexes adjacent to an Amphibious HQ unit.

So something is not working right. I sent additional saves to Pavel from my test of your save so he should be able to duplicate this.

Ive noticed the same thing has happened at Messina. And this is with the Italian boot cut off and the 3 sea hexes covered by amphibs.

Im running the latest beta. Am I right in saying the fix for this will be in the next beta?

Pavel has put in a fix for this and we have it in testing. It will be in the next public beta when that comes out (likely to be January due to Matrix shutting down the last half of December).
