By default the update will install in a folder that might not be the same as the original game installation.
Please make sure that you are installing the update in the same folder as the original game is installed.

I'm also experiencing the same issues. I have the Matrix version and I do not see any serial number for Northern Command. I had to download this because the updater kept blowing up and now it keeps wanting a serial number for Northern Command
Don't you need to buy NI first? You will then get a serial number to unlock NI.

No, I was under the impression previous owners would get this update and extra at no cost.

You get the v1.09 update for free, but the NI campaign & scenarios cost extra.

I also cannot load any scenarios. Matrix version.
Just bought a new pc today. Windows 10.
Downloaded 1.09 757.2. Game starts ok but I have no licenses.
Running as admin.
Also get the error when checking updates with the update button.

Still cannot get license to work. Game runs fine just cannot load included scenarios.
Tried installing 1.08 then 1.09 on top
Tried an earlier version then 1.09 on top
Tried just installing 1.09 final
Tried upgrading it to build 10
Deleted everything command related before each step.
Tried running as admin. Both exe and shortcut.
Tried many deletes, downloads and re-installs.
There are not many places to mess up.
Download/run installer/ enter serial # - (Do not have NI yet so left NI serial number blank)/Run framework installer(although it tells me I already have the latest). Closed that window. Clicked finish.
Only unusual part of the whole process is I install to E: instead of c: due to the fact that my PC vendor setup c: as a 2gb drive for windows. E: has 1.8 TB available.
Windows 10
Unless it's a problem with my account I'm at a loss.

Did you do a full install on the new computer or move a folder from another? If not please install using an installer, update as far as you can with the button and then apply the patches.

Thanks!

Did a complete new download and install from Matrix site.
The "Check for update" button gives me the same error others have reported so I have to download and install updates.

I'm really getting frustrated.
I decide to give up on the Matrix install and go to steam.
I go to the Slitherine site - login to find steam key goto steam to add the game to my library.
I'm told it is a duplicate key (I copy/pasted it from Slitherine site so no typo) so someone else I assume is using my steam key.
I've never had so much trouble with a game in all my many years of gaming.

Wish I could just send you a key but they don't give us access to that.

Please contact matrix support here to see if they can assist.

http://www.matrixgames.com/support/

Please let me know if you don't hear from them within a couple days.

Your other option is to install Matrix command and update using the manual download which you can find here:

http://www.matrixgames.com/products/483/downloads/

Just make sure you install it to:

E:\Matrix Games\ Command Wargame of the year edition\

Thanks!

Well, I clicked the manual install link - "Page cannot be displayed"
I think the big guy upstairs doesn't want me to play :)

Will contact Matrix support about the key tomorrow. Getting sleepy :)

I can still play on my laptop at least. Not the same though.
Wonder if it's a windows 10 issue?

Thanks !

Hi,

Glad you got it working!

Can you tell us what was the factor that resolved the issue, so that we may help anyone else with a similar problem?

Thanks.

Well, the issue was never resolved with the matrix install. There are not many places for user error.
Tried different versions, versions over versions. Complete wipes of everything command related.
New installs with different versions. Game just never found the main license.
The Steam install fixed it so I guess the question would be what is difference in the two installation programs.
Steam installs to a different directory but I doubt that was the trouble.

Not having any issues with licensing. But everytime I try to play Eye for an Eye scenario in Northern Inferno I get a total lock up of game.

At scenario start I takeoff a couple of aircraft from Ark Royal and also helicopter off Glamorgan and within a few mins the game just locks solid, have to Ctrl Alt Del out. Background Music is turned off.

Using a 40" Ultra HD Monitor at 3840x2160 res, did I hear right that high res may be causing problems?

Have SLI enabled as well, may try disabling that and see how I go.

This is with the Steam version 1.09 final Build 757.10

Edit - Tried with SLI disabled but still get a total lock up at just over 6 min play.

While the cumulative update 1.09 worked, 1.091 creates a massive problem for me: neither the main game nor the NI expansion do run any more. The error message says that a Steamwork.net file wasn´t found, but I don´t use the sim with Staem. Any clue? Shall I upload the message file´?
