the winner wasn't even a whisky either, well not a traditional make of it by the real sense, not that i drink it either, but when the Japanese won it last year as well, it does make you wonder why they all call it the same, when it's not whisky in the sense than it's not made with the same stuff, as real whisky has to be? as you can't compare stuff that is, with stuff that isn't, not in a true test anyway, as the sweeter more none traditional makes will always win, as they do taste or are different, but that's because there flavoured whisky brands and not pure whisky[:-]

I'm pretty sure it's not the first time it's happened. Sullivan's Cove, a local Hobart drop, won the world's best whiskey in 2014.
