Hardbound Manual Upgrade for Digital Download Customers

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Hardbound Manual Upgrade for Digital Download Customers

Post by Stardog765 »

Man I could have sworn I seen a post here that talked about there being an option for us digital download customers to buy the hardbound manual.

I am making my Christmas list out for my family and that was going to be on it but I cannot find it.

Maybe I was dreaming? :(

Would it be better to provide the manual as punched pages to be installed into a ring binder by the game owner?

This should be cheaper than producing a bound hardback book.

A seperate page version would enable updates to the manual to be provided as printed pages or pdf downloads.

This would make it easier than having to search the forum to find updates to the game system.

I already have my manual in a three ring binder. I produced it myself by printing it.

Or you can go to a printers and have them do it for you.

I am flirting with the idea of going to a book binder and having a couple of my game manuals hard-bound professionally. Leather bound and all that. If/when I do, I will post a picture.

War in the West is next up on their list to provide the ability to upgrade. I hope it will be available soon, but I have no inside information on when it's going to happen.

Large portions of the manual are already out of date due to updates and patches and balance changes.

I can understand wanting it for collectors sake. But the manual is not really a good source of information anymore.

I'd say most of it is still valid. Many new features have been added on the top and there were no radical changes which would make it obsolete.

I am considering buying War in the West digital download and boxed upgrade.

Is the full size printed manual physically the same as the manual included in the original boxed version of War in the West?

What is the postage cost to Australia for the boxed edition and is there any additions charges for GST if sent to Australia?

Yes, it should be the exact same. No idea about the shipping charges.
