Siege artillery

VR designs has been reinforced with designer Cameron Harris and the result is a revolutionary new operational war game 'Barbarossa' that plays like none other. It blends an advanced counter pushing engine with deep narrative, people management and in-depth semi-randomized decision systems.

Siege artillery

Post by Meteor2 »

At the moment it consists only of infantry.
Should some guns be shown in the icon?

from what i can remember, that's correct, but yes a nice big gun would be better also, so agreed[;)]

Much better!
Artillery is artillery and infantry is infantry.

I shaked my head when I saw infantry for the siege artillery.
This game with so much details, how could they do this?

I've done a quick mod to fix it, but I need someone to tell me what to do with it. There's no separate art file for siege artillery - my guess is there's a data file somewhere that tells that unit to use the infantry graphic.

Cameron will want to chime in here. There is philosophy behind only the security detachment being displayed.

best wishes,

Hi,

The Siege unit isn't depicting the actual rail mounted monsters but the attached protection unit.

If that unit is over run you've lost your siege artillery.

On the scale of the game showing a few big guns as a counter is a bit out of whack.

Cheers,
Cameron

But an artillery icon is more related to the purpose of "siege artillery". [:D]

Infantry as a symbol is misleading, I think.

"Fuhrer, the 4000 man siege support unit has arrived at the enemy fortress."
"Excellent, have them fire the 80cm gun at the fortress."
"Well, Fuhrer, they misunderstood the order and only the detachment moved out - the 80 cm gun is still in Warsaw."
"Tell them they better fix bayonets then."
"Things are getting better!
...Well, maybe not as good as they were yesterday, but much better than they will be tomorrow!"

Hi,

I'll give it some thought.

Cheers,
