Compass Games World in Flames Blitz

Post by ezzler »

World in Flames Blitz..a new World in Flames game for the modern era of gaming.
The entire war all playable in 8 hours, apparently.
And fits on just a single dining room table instead of two or three table tennis tables.

Good to see the designers have kept the mind-boggling rules with all the traditional exceptions, preconditions, prohibitions, contradictions, addendum, long winded complex cases applicable only to a minuscule number of events and keeping the extreme likelihood of playing the game completely wrong for years and years.

see the forum posts..

Now ..Matrix...

When's the PC version coming out?

Just from first appearances of the map it looks like Risk in Flames. [:D]

I was going to say the same.

We evolved from this:

to this:

probably the graphic designer suffered a brain stroke. [:@]

It turned from Hex based map to Area based map.
Also this one below is a test map. There is another map uploaded on BGG.

It looks like a poster from a Geography classroom.

I could never get past the ugly out-of-proportion map, even the early hex based map when I saw it years ago during testing.  [:-]

This is growing on me a bit.
I'm never going to get WIf out on the table again. Patton in Flames has never even been punched.

I'd like to see a review of it. Especially by Wif players.

Most test maps look like garbage in their early stage. They typically evolve over time to a much better looking final product.

I liked some of that review on BGG. It was way over busy with look-ma-I'm-a-middle-aged-guy-who-just-discovered-there-are-videos-on-the-Internet-and-I-can-embed-them-in-my-writing-for-no-real-reason-at-all-since-no-one-will-watch-them-anyway. That is so...2007? Earlier? Over.

Anyway I liked how it pointed out that I-Go-You-Go is totally 20th Century. Over.
