Game manual

Post by RJL5188 »

I had the boxed version of this game, but then lost it in moving. I really liked the game manual that came with it.

I Contacted support and they said they cant send me another manual, and i really dont want to print out the PDF file becaseu i prefer the original book that came with the game. Does anyone have a spare manual that i can buy or am i just gonna have to buy another boxed version of the game to get the printed manual?

Matrixgames said they were going to do boxed upgrades, but so far, besides the ones they have released...no dice.

You can try and have a local print shop print out a nice copy of the e-book for your use. I'm considering doing something similar for the community-provided Planning Map.

This sounds like a good idea. The glossy glue-bound game manual is nice to look at but once the glue starts to break from the manual being opened too often the pages threaten to go their own way. Printing the PDF in a larger format with fewer pages and good binding would be very useful.

Have to believe Matrix is leaving a stone unturned. If they were to sell copies of upgraded manuals for this title they'd fly off the shelves.

+1

Seriously they are printing hardcover manuals for their new releases.

This game has the most dedicated following of any game they sell.

Not sure you can still get a printed manual even if you order a new boxed game.

Think they may have run out of them altogether.

The only problem is getting someone to write it. If a person or group of people want to take on a new manual project, contact me and I'll put you in touch with the right people to get a Word version of the existing manual to get started. Until someone is willing to do it, it won't happen.

Bill....You made the same kind offer two years ago, but the problem was finding someone with the time and talent to put the book together.
If some kind soul is out there with that time and talent, please step from behind the apricot tree.

IIRC, didn't someone post about a year or so ago that he was rewriting the manual little by little? I could be wrong though, maybe I just dreamed it.

Bill, one thing that I have right now is TIME. But I would need what ever needs to be fixed, added, etc. Not sure how long it would take, but I could give it a shot. If someone or two would join me, we could break up the manual into a few sections to speed up the work....GP

You might be able to copy/paste from every upgrade screen?

A team of people collaborating could make relatively short work of the project.

Incorporating the release notes would probably be a good place to start.

It looks like the project is still alive, even a long-term one: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3689581&mpage=3&key= (post #84)
