Brauchitch was the Oberkommando des Heeres and Halder was Chief of the General Staff.
Basically he was Brauchitch's chief of staff. Not really a typo but....

Be precisely on this:ORIGINAL: Meteor2
Please(!) remove the "Luftflotten Kommandants".
It has to be "Oberbefehlshaber der Luftflotten". [;)]
Luftflotte = Singular
Luftflotten = Plural

Right. But here it was meant to be Plural.
Meaning was "... die OB der Luftflotten berichteten...". [;)]

Hi,
IG Farben is actually correct.
The company split into four and was renamed but not until the early 50's.
Cheers,
Cameron

RE: Should we report typos ?
Maybe this is helpful, Sir:ORIGINAL: lancer
Hi,
As I'm the one who put all the texts together and made some dubious calls on mangling the German language you can blame me for this.
I'm not a German speaker and I've used English reference books on the subject that have taken a relatively consistent naming approach which I've followed.
However there is always room for improvement and if you'd like to highlight areas where my 'German Speak' hasn't passed muster, in this thread, at some point not too far away, I'll take a swing through all the numerous text files and correct things.
Cheers,
Cameron

In German, Herr (Mr. or Sir...) is always Herr (capital letter 'H')

Friekorps (wrong) has to be : Freikorps
Cdr. 221 Security Div. GenLt. Pflugbebeil (wrong) has to be : Pflugbeil

RE: Should we report typos ?
I remember a reference to "lastwagens" in one of the logistics reports.
In German there is, in this case, no plural "s". Its one Lastwagen, and many / several Lastwagen.
Also in German nouns are always written with a capital first letter. E.g. "Lastwagen."

Hi,
There are a lot of text files in the game relating to different areas.
If you post a suggestion it'd be helpful if you could mention where the offending item was, unless it's a general issue.
Cheers,
Cameron

I wonder if you should not generally call German mechanized/motorized infantry, Panzergrenadier (plural Panzergrenadiere)? But I'm not sure on this.

Not as Generaloberst (Abbreviation Gen.Obst)?ORIGINAL: wosung
Chosing the the German side you role-play as Halder, don't you?
Then why is the the player adressed as Field Marshal and not as Colonel General?
We are not talking of the translation of the game in to German language.ORIGINAL: sergeii99
For me it is fine like this, since i dont speak or understand a word of german.
Cheers
Serge
We are talking about introducing proper historical German names.
Each strategy player knows what a Feldmarschall, or even a Generalfeldmarschall is.
Almost every strategy player (and viewers/readers of historical documentaries) knows what Heeresgruppe, Panzergruppe, OKW, OKH… stands for.

RE: Should we report typos ?
Funny.
General Jodl was an Bavarian (born in Würzburg), an avid mountaineer, and 'Kruzitürken is an expression one hears mainly in Bavaria. [:D]
Another Bavarian phrase is "zefix nomoi". Don't ask to explain this...
What 'werkstatts' should stand for?
spielzeuglastwagens = Spielzeuglastwagen - engl. toy trucks?
