Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. Weather. Actions.

A short turn with the axis once again winning the initiative and electing to go first. This turn, however, they moved both first and last. Though short, a few things of consequence did happened.

Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. Battle of the Atlantic.

Germany did use the first impulse to take a naval and get their 11 u-boat units out to sea. 3 of the 11, which started in Keil could only make to the Faeores gap and were non-issue this turn. However, the other 8 did make it into the allied convoy lines and were distributed with 3 in Cape St. Vincent (joining 3 Italian subs there), 4 into the North Atlantic where they met up with 2 KM surface raiders and 2 in the Central Atlantic.

The Germans and Italians did manage to sink 6 allied convoys and force another 4 to abort. The last battle of the turn occurred in the North Atlantic, saw 2 CW CPs sunk and another 2 aborted and happened on the last impulse of the turn which meant that the allies had no chance to replace these losses before the turn ended.

Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. CW & USA End of Turn Convoy Route Adjustments.

Through rerouting and (CW) using 2 saved oil points, the CW and USA were able to maintain full production. But barely ...

Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. CP Losses.

1943, which just end this turn, has seen the highest convoy losses of the war for the Allies. This year alone, 30 CW and USA convoys were sunk and another 12 were aborted. For all years of the war, a total of 87 CW and USA convoys have been sunk and a total of 41 have been aborted. Throughout it all the allies have kept war production going at full strength but only because they've made it a top priority to do so.

Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. Land Combat. Japan.

Even with snow in the North Temperate on the second allied impulse (#8), the USA used an o-chit with MacArthur to maintain their momentum in Japan. Momentum that was indeed continued but at a cost.

Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. Land Combat. China.

The Nationalist finally manage to liberate Canton. However, a decent chance to take Kungchow and then Hainan fails on a low roll of 6.

Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. The Western Front and the Bordeaux.

The Americans reshuffled the defenders at Bordeaux to include pulling Hodges and his HQ unit out, putting them in England and replacing them with a garrison and division to reinforce the USA 7-4 corps there.

Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. Land Combat. Bordeaux, France.

At one point during this reshuffling, Bordeaux was defended by the lone USA 7-4 corps. It was at this time that Germany tried to eliminate the allies at Bordeaux. The Germans failed.

Turn 26. Nov/Dec 1943. Western Med. Italian Coast. Sardinia.

The naval and land stalemate in these areas continue.

Though, the USA continues to move more and more naval forces from the Pacific to the Med and more air units from American to there too.
