Logistics - John has gotten a lot better with it since I helped him years ago in his epic WITP game vs Canoerebel. He isn't using Tracker or any helpful aid right now. I was suppose to talk him through getting Tracker up, but we haven't done it yet. So, he is flying by the seat of his pants right now. [:D]

Western China - area of concern

On land, there is only this screen shot that has Allied HQ concerned. John has sent multiple Tank Regiments to the border. A while back one stack showed up and a mouseover revealed over 200 vehicles causing troops to start leaving Chungking in masse. I know what is there, except what is coming from Burma. But, I have ordered a recon unit to fly over to find out.

India/Burma - the slow road back to re-conquer Burma has begun. John has a large number of warships tasked to bombarding Chittagong and troops at Cox's Bazar (lesson learned long ago is to have at least one CD with units pushing down the coast). I have gotten lucky and had the 6" CD guns get a hit or two on his DDs, but none on the big guys. More troops headed here.

I'd keep a Lysander fragment on recon on the road east of Akyab....

Remember, this game is going to the end and you are not on a clock. There are no points given for length of time holding a piece of property, just who is holding it at the end.

The points given are for what is destroyed along the way. Plan your strategy and execute it at your will, not Johns.

Some of us are really cheering for you ;]

IMHO it is getting harder and harder to be allied as so many AARs reveal
what's possible against an unprepared allied alliance. Every weakness in
every area is exposed now. As if it wasn't apparent 5 years ago it is sickening
clear now how badly dispersed and unready the Allies were. I find it even more
"fun"/challenging now than ever. Both sides must feel it. The more your back is against
the wall the more compelling it is change the dynamic. Some say how hard it is to
AV the allies, I say &^%$ ! [:D] Just some ramble to bump ya back up top.[:'(]

I'm down to my laptop as tower needs new hard drive (HD). Will get new one on Cyber Monday. I start vacation on evening before Turkey Day for 11 days and will get thing caught up then.

Right now there is John not liking air and ground combat at India/Burma border; facing new defensive line in southern China; playing 'cat and mouse' in SE Pacific as I steadily take back islands, but get two of three BC/BB from Force Z torpedoed by his damn subs [:@]; and getting ready for a few invasions in Aleutians under massive LRCAP from Kodiak. I've adjusted to using off map movement for most movements, but it takes so much longer.

This is definitely a first watching an Allied player launch an offensive from Port Stanley.

Looking forward to the updates.

As of Oct 1st, '42, I have just recaptured ALL of the Marquesas Islands (landed at the big three - Nuka Hiva, Ua Huka, and Hiva Oa) with only defenders at Ua Huka. Have had Mangareva and Rapa along the southern map edge and took Hoa in the middle to connect what I have. The fleet is gathering at Mangareva for the next invasion - Tubuai, but is awaiting 2 Amphib TFs that have just gotten on main map. Next will be Rangiroa to isolate Tahiti further (John's main base).

The issue with coming from Port Stanley (PS) is time. It takes a 12 knot transport 12 days to get to and from map edge. Then, there is the transit to my main base at Mangareva which adds another week. It takes around 30 days to come from Eastern USA to PS. Plans are to stay here with fleet and capture all the way over to Cook Islands before they head out for their big 10/42 upgrades.

Long time without an update, but things are heating up in the three major theaters - No Pac, SE Pac, and Burma/India border region. Since John has restarted his game vs Canoerebel and doing his AAR for it, we will slow down our pace (1 or 2 turns weekdays and up to 3 per weekend day). We are now at Nov 6th 1942....

North Pacific (Aleutians): This area has heated up since I start to expand from Kodiak to SW by using PBYs to move in construction engineers and a BF. I was able to get an Amphib TF there on occasion, but as screenshot shows John has frequently sent in various BB TFs (Bombardment) of CL. CA, and BB to slow down the expansion process. In early Oct I was able to get the port and AF to expand to level 1 each at Chirikof Island (4 SSW of Kodiak). The AF just went to 2.

We are now at Nov 5th.

SE Pac - This is where I've been steadily expanding over the last few months (see screenshot). I'm going back a few days as a CV or more was spotted north of Tahiti. Over the last few months, John has sent his CVL/CVEs raiding the bases with a few BB TF hitting a base. No signs of KB....yet [;)]

This posting reflects situation on Nov 2.

SE Pac on Nov 3rd - KB SPOTTED!!!

John's patience ran out and he decided to send KB down to visit me in SE Pac. I thought of running to eastern map edge, but decided to stay at my main base. B-17/24 are sent to NZ, while the fighters move to or are headed for my main base at Mangareva. Will this be a smart move or not at this time of the war?? I have too much shipping down here to leave right now, IMO.

Edit - CV Yorktown completed repairs a while ago and is 8 days from entering SE map edge from Port Stanley. CV Lex has 2 more days to complete repairs at Cape Town.

If I was in charge of the KB and saw you forming up a big fighter CAP I would have one of my STF forces bombard the base and then the next day or two attack with the KB for either shipping or to continue to deteriorate the airfield and/or destroy planes.

SE Pac as of Nov 5th - KB moves to SE of Hao and the AF is attacked by 202 Kates. I try to re-position subs to get a shot at him. I now have about 275 fighters at AF at Mangareva and about 300 fighters on CV/CVL/CVE. Will it be enough?? Was it wise to stay??

I guess you will find out shortly if it was wise or not! [:D]
