2nd Army

VR designs has been reinforced with designer Cameron Harris and the result is a revolutionary new operational war game 'Barbarossa' that plays like none other. It blends an advanced counter pushing engine with deep narrative, people management and in-depth semi-randomized decision systems.

It comes in after a couple turns. You have to play a card to place it.

It's a reinforcement army. Comes later, and you probably want to drop it on Minsk.

Don't worry about copying Michael T's opener precisely. He's a freak of nature. Happily, us mere mortals can get by with something merely approximate to it.

The setup for a human vs human game is slightly different vs the AI. There is a garrison unit sitting in Grodno and Przemysl vs the AI. Human USSR player is not given these units. There is also the random crt that can foil any plan. Could be other factors. But those 2 units do make a difference.

Hi Warhunter,

Sort of.

The garrisons are given to the AI at the start of the game. You'll get a different set-up each time you play. Only the major garrison at Brest-Litvosk is a given.

The Player gets the same number of garrisons but they have the ability to place them where they want, gradually over time. Grodno and Przemysl may well be a bit of a stretch unless you're up against a slow moving German.

The initial dispositions of the Soviet AI forces can also change quite a bit - not dramatically but there is a randomisation routine to mix things up so you aren't always facing a known layout.

Cheers,
Cameron

Thanks for the info about randomized soviet setup.
Call it coincidence that Grodno and Przemysl, both had garrisons when I created a game for this post. [X(]
Thanks for the Great game. [&o]

Hi Warhunter,

From memory both Grodno and Przemysl have a 25% chance each of starting with a minor garrison.

Cheers,
Cameron
