Learning the editor

Post by Foxendown »

I'm starting to experiment with the editor (and reading the manual of course) and had a couple of questions. First I'm thinking about trying to build something like the two "Nachtjagd" campaigns in "Bombing the Reich" i.e. night only air battles, is this doable?

Secondly I'm trying to work out what the colours mean in the list of air groups, some entries are blue, some green and after trying to delete all units, some have gone black. Sorry if I've missed this information completely somewhere obvious!

Would be very grateful for any assistance.

Your idea for a night only campaign sounds great. As few seem brave enough I'll be on call to answer any questions and apologies if my editor writing missed a key fact.

Blue = not in scenario due to date delay beyond end of scenario (the best way to put them out of scope but keep them in the data).
Green = Arrivals.
Black = Air Groups with a set up error. This could be on an airfield that is off map or has no HQ set, or the Air Group HQ is invalid (not in scenario.

Thanks! I'll get started.

No the manual is fine, I had missed it, my apologies (page 16). Have started to map out the airbases against units as at March '43. Had problems with bases that appear to be missing e.g. Deelen but that may be because they are there under another name, more research needed. Was a bit foxed for a while by that black text until I realized that there was a huge delay on the arrival of the HQ unit above also for some reason delays of 998 days (active from 1962?!) on a lot of airfields.
