Cavalry Overrun

Frank Hunter's Campaigns on the Danube is an operational study of the campaigns along the Danube in 1805 and 1809. Campaigns on the Danube's system focuses on trying to present the player with the same sort of decisions placed on their historical counterparts; how to feed an army and move that army according to a plan, all the while trying to fight a campaign. There is also an option to allow players to play out the battles with miniatures and input the results.

Cavalry Overrun

Post by SteveD64 »

What are the rules for cavalry overrun? Kutuzov, in Munich, is overrun by Murat when I hit the play button and every unit is eliminated. Why?

From what I'm gathering, Murat puts 5 Cavalry divisions into Munich and obliterates Kutuzov without a fight.

I have seen cavalry over-run isolated units, but nothing in this scale. If the screen shot is Kutusov before the incident, then there are no Morale, Fatigue, Stress, or supply issues. The units are in a town which, unless they were in a very poor state, should make them immune to cavalry acting alone.

I suggest sending the game save to Frank, see what he makes of it.

Yep, before the incident. Munich is a fortress too, which should make a difference. There is nothing in the rules governing cavalry overruns so I don't know the rules governing that specific incidence. How do I get in touch with Frank?

I suggest the issue is copied into the Support section, with a request to pass on the Frank Hunter.
