a dumb question about bombing urban area

for example, I want to increase urban damage of Bristol





but as you can see my bombers always aim for city centre, there are yellow (heavy damage) zones while just around all town is intact, how can I bomb outside the centre? game doesn't allow me to click whatever point of an urban area while setting the target


Or will bombers automatically get to hit outer zones of town by mean of increasing damage of town centre?

Try hitting it from different directions and/or going after factories in the area and see if you get any collateral damage.
