UI suggestions

VR designs has been reinforced with designer Cameron Harris and the result is a revolutionary new operational war game 'Barbarossa' that plays like none other. It blends an advanced counter pushing engine with deep narrative, people management and in-depth semi-randomized decision systems.

UI suggestions

Post by governato »

I thought a separate thread from the bugs related one 'd be more focused and achieve more visibility.

So my first suggestion is a repeat post :).

I'd like the option to sort units shown in the OOB section clicking on some of their properties. Which of the motorized infantry Divs has the lowest readiness? Which one suffered the largest losses? Which ones have high morale? This addition would reduce counter shuffling/micromanaging, as it 'd allow the player to quickly highlight the stronger units to assign resources to, or those in need of a refit.

In game terms surely my or an army staff would know such things... without me having to go through the stats of each division as of now, as they are ordered based on their ID... which is not useful when one has 77 infantry divisions to worry about...:)

Suggestion nr 2:

option for additional graphic overlay over current tiled map

1) able to read in community provided files
2) with in game adjustable transparency (so that it does not completely obscure cover the underlying tiles)

The uses could be many, such as:

- user created 'painted maps' (ala WITE and Flshpoint Campaigns)
- situational maps that show where the front was at different turns.
- user created operational plans with arrows and army boundaries over a transparent layer to help planning the turn

And if you do not need an extra overlay..you just leave it OFF at start.

I will bump this because it'd be useful to have more UI specific suggestions...:)
