How to get a DxDiag report file:

1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows 8)
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

add the exe of the game to your Anti Virus and firewall program, to make sure to check the logs of these to see if it was one of them which was to blame.

run the game from a admin account and use full admin permissions.

please make sure all game pre requisite are installed with the game, even if you think or fully know there are already installed, it will only over write, and it may be that you have a older or newer version of these where as the game in question may need a certain version.

there's only one game exe crash in the log, but a few AV one with defender (adding the game exe to defender safe / white list should stop this)

Event Name: APPCRASH

with the rest all being Event Name: WindowsUpdateFailure3

Please try to manually reset the Windows Updates Components and check if that helps fix the issue.

a) Press Windows Key + X on the keyboard and then select “Command Prompt (Admin)” from the menu.
b) Stop the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer and the Windows Update Services. To do this, type the following commands at a command prompt. Press the “ENTER” key after you type each command.
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
c) Now rename the SoftwareDistribution and Catroot2 folder. You can do this by typing the following commands in the Command Prompt. Press the “ENTER” key after you type each command.
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
d) Now, let’s restart the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer and the Windows Update Services. Type the following commands in the Command Prompt for this. Press the ENTER key after you type each command.
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver
e) Type Exit in the Command Prompt to close it.

Let us know if it helps.

then run windows update again and try to see if updates work and download correctly, while this isn't game related, and will make no difference to game imo, it will help windows, which in the long run will make the game more stable, as any error with updates leaves the pc is a poorer state, with less fixes and corrections etc

did you also load all the game pre requisite, as first log error says it is missing, so a reinstall or repair should have fixed it tbh

you need to install directx 9, same as any file that comes with a given game, as older or newer version won't work either

Image

i test a lot of games, so have more than most needed / installed, with direct x 8 up to 12 installed

with out the pre requisite files that come with the game, the game will either error out or not work, or give other errors
