RE: The Good The Bad & The Indifferent
One of the things you are missing Dan is JuanG's Allied Aircraft Purchase option that I have been able to use. I'm near the end of Nov 42 and probably spent about 1000 PP to date getting extra fighters and I think one group of B-17s. The change in aircraft performance from stock to DBB is significant IMO. Our game doesn't have any altitude restrictions which helps out each side as newer versions continue to see their ceiling increase. Don't remember if you guys have one.

Purchase fighters???
I had no idea! I'll look into that when I get the next turn. That would become my highest priority. If I can get fighters the odds of winning this campaign improve considerably.

Yes - just PM Cap Mandrake and he will put you in touch with M&M Enterprises ....[;)]

This is implemented in Between the Storms and Focus Pacific although there really appears to be little need for it in either of those scenarios as they both feature enhanced Allied plane pools, especially FP.

Was that feature really implemented in RA 5.0?
For the sake of discussion I would also like to add that boosting allied plane production isn´t the solution to the unlimited Japanese plane production. You don´t fix "more" with even more "more". [;)] (I know there is an saying for this but I can´t remember!)

I think we've upgraded to RA 6.0 or thereabouts. Is it available in this mod? NYGiants will probably know.

If it is you should have the "off map boxes" shown in this thread:

Its one of those changes that DON"T become available unless you do a restart. [:(]
I like the idea of Allied Aircraft Purchases Jocke. It gives them choices. I need PP for lots of things and this just adds more options to the mix. We just went two turns with no offensive air missions from both sides. Weird, huh?

Well crap. That's kind of a let down.

Is seems that updates, additions and bug fixes for player modded scenarios can only be placed into the scenario files.
This means it takes restarts for each change and update to take effect.
I started playing the Focus Pacific scenario as soon as it was available (albeit portrayed as a Beta) and have provided considerable playtesting feedback, but have resisted restarting every time a bug fix or update was released.
My game is in July '42 and is rife with bugs of the initial beta release, but I am still having a blast playing it.

Battle of Sumatra: No enemy sweeps over Sabang. Massed air attacks (escorted by Zeroes) of Medan and the island I hold west of Sabang. The Allied army at Medan has extreme disruption and fatigue. I hope John waits two more turns before attacking.
Advanced ships carrying two AA units should arrive at Sabang tomorrow. A large supply TF and a combat TF will depart Colombo tonight (supply level is currently 250k).
Battle of Burma: Massed enemy strikes on the Allied army near Magwe. Scattered Allied strikes further out, towards Schwebo, Myitkina, etc. Troops are continuing to advance on the Japanese position, including Chinese units coming in from the east.
Housekeeping: HMS Indomitable (or Illustrious, I disremember which) withdrew at Colombo. She was ten days overdue, but I wanted her present for the near-engagement with the KB a week ago. A damaged UK BB due for withdrawal in 30 days withdrew at Capetown. I went through the "destroyed units" list and bought back a bunch of cheepies, including some Indian brigades that will arrive at Karachi. This was triggered by my forlorn search for the "buy aircraft using PP" feature that, it turns out, is not available in this old mod.

Battle of Sumatra: Medan falls on a deliberate attack by five IJA divisions. The silver lining was that only two Allied units remained in the hex. 1st Marines under Archer Vandergrift was decimated. An Indian division escaped most of the damage. Both units retreated into the jungle, where I'll have a defensive stack of about 1200 AV. The next hex behind that is Langsa with about 300 AV. Hopefully the Allies can hold in the jungle terrain. That's going to be key. As for 1st Marines, they'll proceed to Sabang. I'll see if they regroup well. If not, I may pull the unit out to India.
SigInt indicates Saesebo Assault Div. is coming for the island to the SW. An IJ carrier TF is loitering just a bit further west. Meantime, an Allied combat TF is inbound from Colombo. The TF carrying two AA units is also inbound - the first transport was detached and sent in via flank speed and has already unloaded. The others are in harm's way. I think an IJN DD TF will visit Sabang next turn.
Battle of Burma: The Allies will try a probing attack in the contested hex south of Magwe, to be covered by LRCAP from Ramree and to be preceded by massed B-25C attacks from Chittagong. I don't have high hopes, but it's worth a try.
Ramilles: She pops another leak and FLT is up from 51 to 56. She's continuing towards Socatra. Lots of Jap subs off the SW coast of India.
The Good, the Bad, and the Stupid: I've had a Brit divebomber unit based in and around Chittagong for weeks now. She never attacks. Never. I moved to bigger bases. Still no attacks. Ever. Today I looked at her pilot quality....and discovered she has no pilots. None. So how did she move from base to base???

Did the first marines take a lot of destroyed devices or mostly disabled? If you have sufficient support at Sabang they should be able to recover...

Battle of Sumatra: For the fourth consecutive day, no IJA sweeps of Sabang. Transports carrying two AA units (including Belfast Heavy) unload. Combat TF flagged by CL Achilles arrives. Sasaebo Assault Division is coming ashore at Sinabang, the island west of Sabang. I think this is D Plus 67.
Battle of Burma: Japanese Tojos get the best of a motely crew of Allied fighters on LRCAP above the stack south of Magwe. The Allies lose roughly 5:3, they're worst performance in a long time. But it was for a purpose, both to protect the ground troops (their attack came off at 1:1 and did more damage to the Japanese) and to give John the idea of weakness. Tomorrow more than 100 F4Fs with crack pilots will fly that same mission. The computer says the ground troops want to attack again. Massed B-25Cs are to support the mission. They declined to fly today due to weather.
Ramilles: I'm diverting her to the north. She'll probably seek refuge at Karachi until things quiet down.
The Monitor Not the Merrimac: After 350 years of wandering in the wilderness, I have a nice monitor. Nice for me, anyhow. But it's distorting the game and also seems to make the map scroll slowly and respond to orders agonizingly slowly. I think I've seen threads before telling how to configure a monitor to the game (or the game to a manitor, as the case may be). Anybody know where such a thread might be found? I am technologically backwards not intentionally obtuse, so I'm not asking anybody to walk me through this. I'll keep searching the Tech subforum.

What did you get Dan? model# ?

The above is my command line for switches, which oddly enough, works great on my wide screen HP.
"3840 x 2160 resolution for Ultra High definition 4k monitors with(2160p) and also 5120x2880 Resolution for 5k monitors, and even 8K UHDTV (4320p) with 7680 pixels wide by 4320 is not mainstream atm in games at any level, FPS tend to do it first, and are atm only just supporting 4k, with none that i know of supporting 5 or 8k yet, with war games makers being a long way behind, not having the hardware and even the audience either having the card as yet on mass to support it, never mind the pc's either, anyone who takes on this high end tech will be imo on there own for a year or 2 in the war game market at least, if not longer i'm sorry to say "
