Baz,

The manuals are lovely, but you'll probably find them not worth the money to ship and you'll end up using the hyper-linked manual, it's so much nicer to be able to search and click to the right section.

Sorry bazjak I tried to find out how much (as I know I posted it in one of these threads) but couldn't find it [&:]

All I will say is, it was worth it! a) I love my books anyway (and these are a fine addition to the book shelf) but b) for a game like this where, unlike many computer games, the reading of a manual is an absolute must - as is constant reference to it while playing (at least initially). The books are great from that practical point of view.

You are welcome to my manuals. They bring no new information for me, as I check the RAW for the rules.

Right now they add about 1.5 inches to my monitor as they sit under the base, and have done so for years.

Oh and the game is unplayable using the optional rules, so enjoy WIF basic.

My latest discovery is that red factories, which are only destroyable by Strategic Bombing, are now automatically destroyed by combat, and cost production to fix. So subtract 24BP just to get through france.

I'm sure losing 24 BP before attacking Russia will have NO effect on the game...

They now have a warehouse in the EU so you should not have to pay that much any more.

Certainly not unplayable.

Remember that the Allies will face the same problem in reverse. When the Allies retake their red factories they won't just start producing again, thus slowing down the Allied onslaught late in the war.

Or just leave the factory destruction option rule off.

Dunno. That was the reason they gave, back in the old times, but...

... the books are voluminous and heavy. Maybe 2-3 kilos? About 5-7 pounds. And were delivered through companies like DHL or similar, which are more expensive than common mail. Not that the difference is huge when you are speaking of such heavy delivery, but anyway...

... the taxes you'll have to pay anyway, It would seem either the price of the game does not include taxes, which would be pretty dirty way to sell, or more probably the books get a huge taxing.

This delivery and taxing from USA to UE should be paid anyway. The question is : "Is Matrix or the Matrix Depot in EU going to pay for it. Else, it could be even worse, getting your books sent to, say Germany, instead of your country, and then re-sent there.

Having a depot doesn't delete taxes and only makes delivery partially cheaper, in the sense that the books could be sent massively (for example by sea) and not through air mail with a fancy company, but nothing else.
