UPDATES/OB service pack 1

Hello gentlemen,
I have installed all the updates except SP1 I have been able to play the # 5 campaign which I dl from this site
as well as the add-on scenarios.... when is SP 1 needed? so far all plays and behaves well.
The game does not display the terrain in win 8.1 but plays.
the games runs well on vista ... I installed this game on win 8.1 per instructions fron Zakblood, however the issue remains.
A very enjoyable game!
