Ki-46 KAI Dinah

Post by PresterJohn001 »

Is it worth building at all for anti bomber groups? Faster than KA1b Nick, less armour and guns. Don't think i've used it much if at all before.

I'm not especially inclined to build unless someone has some good ideas :)

thanks

PJ

B-29 speed = 357 mph

anything below that speed will get one pass, then afterwards you will see the message "cannot catch bomber"

...can't wait [:)]

EDIT: I thought you were asking about the night fighter Dinah:

Regarding Dinah's fighter version: one 37mm cannon and one turret with a small 7.7mm machine gun... The 37mm cannon accuracy sucks, it is good for killing PT boats or xAKLs, I don't know how good are they against 4E bombers.
Against my sweeping fighters it will be armless

I had two squadrons of Dinah fighters, I may have grown that to 3 at one point.

They did great service...however, probably not how you are thinking.

As regular fighters they stink. Perhaps that is too kind.[;)]

However, they quite possibly have the slowest climb rate of any fighter, and I moved them into 1/3rd splinters, set them at 10K, 10% escort, and night duties.

There, they never closed with enemy night time bombers, but were always present spoiling their aim.

I tried to use them as long range escorts, anti ship, fighter sweeps and the frame really underperformed probably do to the hideously poor accuracy of the cannon.

thanks, i'll take the production suggestions into consideration, and may just use some as Lowpe suggests just to annoy the allies :)

You can do this with Pete's. IMHO this A/C is a waste to produce, unless you need it in a PDU off game.

I don't think you need to produce the plane at all in a pdu off game. At least not in mine.

The problem with the Pete is you need water and very short transfer distance.

Agreed, but there's a lot of water out there.[:D] As far as getting them there, they're pretty ubiquitous and are carried by many AV's.
