CS into CVL upgrade doesnt start...

I think with the Tenryu it will become apparent after the first upgrade which can occur 2/42. Once that is done I believe the conversion link will appear on the ship screen. Did not include them in the chart since they were AA upgrade and carried no aircraft.

Nice chart Skyros, but I have a question? Now I'm playing a stock (yes I plan to use the beta [its on my stick] just not now as I don't want to learn what's new in the middle of a game in which I'm learning to begin with) scenario 1. There are two Japanese CL's that will upgrade to CLAA, but IIRC there's no way to realize this unless you pull into a port with a repair yard. At least that's how I discovered it. I was using them to escort something into Yokohama (?) and when I disbanded the TF and viewed the ships I noticed the upgrade. I didn't see an upgrade to option on the ship screen prior to this, or did I just miss something. Also therefore I didn't notice a date for it to commence. Any assistance with this would be appreciated as I still don't know when this can be started and what size repair yard is necessary.

Not sure if I will convert these CS ships, I quite like them how they are. Also one of them (which name I do not remember but it has severall 12,7cm guns) did a good job as surfce combat vessel (vs. lighter ships tho but still). And gained quite good exp in the process. Surely it was damgaged also, cause it has no armor. Maybe keep at least 2 of the better ones as they are.

As for the CL conversions to CLAA I just noticed that they have only the worse type of 12,7cm guns judging from the screen shot. I have 2 converting right now (in 8/42) must check if they have also only the not so good guns. Saldy in their original configuration their AA is miserable. Therefore I found the 14cm guns quite good in fleet actions.

Can someone confirm how is this dealt in Da-Babes? I somehow remember that Symon confirmed it didn't need to be done at Tokyo in DaBabes scenarios, but can't find the post

In DBB, all four CS have the convert options, rather than the the need to disband at Tokyo for the Two C's.

Question - I notice there is a conversion that occurs of the floatplane groups.
1) Does that happen in DBB?
2) What happens if the floatplanes are not on board Chitose and Chiyoda? Do the CVLs come back with no air units?

Hi Cohimbra ! Yes they do indeed and now I am doing so in my current game .... However despite this conversion, their AA rating is still below that of a Atlanta CLAA. ( u can of course say they are far better than what is in the real timeline )
