Courts-martial ?

Post by kgp »

I have been a long time lurker on this board who now needs help.

My opponent and I are starting a campaign game, PBEM DaBigBabes scenario #28. House rules include no hunting of the American carriers on the first move and only one suprise carrier attack on the first move.

I entrusted Nagumo with the Kido Butai (5 CVs) to attack Pearl Harbor. Kaga has gone south.

Kido Butai winds up at hex 136,90 - 24 hexes to the northwest heading for Osaka.

Has this ever happened to anyone before?

Now I would like your opinions.

Could we get out of this war?
I wonder what terms we could get?
We only attacked Wake Island and the Philippines.
Could we say it was a mistake what with our thick glasses and all?

Is there key that starts a courts-martial?
Should Admiral Nagumo be shot?

What advice would you give?
Feel free, my opponent only checks his email in October after the fishing season.

The error set is infinite.

That looks very much like a deliberate attempt to bypass the no hunting American carriers on turn 1 by intentionally sailing towards Pearl the long way.

If so, it backfired big time! [:D]

CV TFs do not like close encounters of the fleet kind and will often run for home port when it happens.
Stuff happens in war, now go hunting for that carrier TF and stop whining for a restart! [;)]
